Organizational Structure
The Central lowa Workforce Development Area (CIWDB) is one of six Workforce Development Areas in Iowa designated by the Governor under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The Central lowa Workforce Development Area oversees the workforce system in the counties of Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Polk, Story, and Warren.
The local workforce board plays a crucial role in:
- Setting priorities for funding and services.
- Allocating state fund resources to various programs and initiatives.
- Engaging with employers, training providers, and community organizations to ensure that the services meet the needs of both job seekers and businesses.
- Monitoring and evaluation of program performance and regulatory compliance.
