Organizational Structure
Central Iowa Workforce Development Board (CIWDB) is one of six Workforce Development Areas in Iowa designated by the Governor under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The Central lowa Workforce Development Area oversees the workforce system in Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Polk, Story, and Warren counties.

Eric Kress
Executive Director
Eric Kress is a respected community leader with a distinguished career in the non-profit and human services sector. With 20 years of experience, he has served as the Executive Director of the CIWDB since 2022. Eric recently earned a master’s degree in human services. Career highlights include being named Waukee Citizen of the Year in 2020. He has served on various boards and committees, including the Waukee Betterment Foundation, Waukee Chamber of Commerce, and is currently a member of the Greater Des Moines Supportive Housing Board.
