Workforce Development Ecosystem map
The Workforce Development Ecosystem Map is an interactive map offering visual representation of workforce organizations, programs and resources available in Polk, Dallas and Warren counties. This map was launched as an initiative of Capital Crossroads in partnership with the Greater Des Moines Partnership.

Workforce Development in Action
The Boone County Workforce Partnership was established in 2023 to address workforce gaps among seniors, veterans, immigrants, and second-chance citizens. It launched employer engagement initiatives, such as Lunch-n-Learn events and senior job programs, to foster economic growth. Through CIWDB leadership and local collaboration, Boone County is strengthening workforce access and employer connections, offering a model for other counties.

Economic Impact Study of WIOA Title I in Central Iowa
The Economic Value of Central Iowa WIOA Title I Investments was analyzed by Lightcast, measuring Program Year 2022.
The Executive Summary report includes a Central Iowa LWDA profile and an economic impact analysis, demonstrating the value created by LWDA WIOA Title I investments from multiple perspectives.

Executive Summary of the Economic Impact Study
Executive Director Eric Kress prepared an Impact Study and Investment Summary in December 2024. The study focused on employment outcomes, earnings growth, and economic returns, reporting significant gains for participants and positive fiscal impacts for taxpayers.
The summary of findings includes next steps as discussed with the Board.

CIWDB Who We Are
The Local Workforce Development (LWD) Board's purpose is to serve as a strategic leader and convener of local workforce development system stakeholders, as defined by the Federal WIOA Act.

Incumbent Worker Program Application
CIWDB's Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) Program is training provided by an employer to an existing employee or a group of employees. IWT provides both workers and employers with the opportunity to build and maintain a quality workforce.
